What we collect, and why
RSCUE is run by a small team. This page describes exactly what happens to information you send us through rscue.app. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
Last updated 30 August 2026
The short version
- We collect what you type into our two forms, and nothing else about you.
- We use no cookies on this website, and no third-party analytics or advertising.
- We do not sell, rent or share your information with anyone.
- Email us and we will delete your record, no questions asked.
The contact form
When you send us a message we record your name, email address, organization if you give one, your message, and the IP address the submission came from. We keep the IP address only to block abuse of the form.
The beta application form
If you apply to the beta programme, we record what the form asks for: your organization's name, website, location and country; which search and rescue domains you operate in; whether you are a registered non-profit and, if so, the country and registration number you give; how many people are in your organization and how many would use RSCUE; your specialties; details of your divisions; how often you are called out and train; whether you want SARForce dispatching; the name, role, email address and phone number of your main point of contact; and anything you write in the notes. We also record the IP address the application came from.
We use this to decide whether we can support your organization in the beta and what a licence should look like. That is the only use.
Website statistics
We count page views so we know which parts of the site are useful. This is our own software running on our own server — there is no Google Analytics, no advertising network, and nothing loaded from a third party.
For each page view we store the page address, the site that linked you to us if any, your screen width, and whether you are on a phone, tablet or desktop.
To count returning visits without identifying you, we store a one-way hash of your IP address and browser combined with a secret and today's date. We never store your IP address alongside it, the hash cannot be reversed to identify you, and it changes every night — so it cannot be used to follow you from one day to the next.
We set no cookies for statistics, which is why this site has no cookie banner. The only cookie the site can set is a login session for our own staff using the private admin area.
Where it goes
Submissions are stored in a database on our web server and emailed to us so we see them promptly. Our website and email are hosted by GoDaddy. We do not send your information anywhere else, and we do not use it to train anything.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries and beta applications for as long as we are in contact with your organization, and for up to 24 months after our last exchange, so that we can pick a conversation back up. Website statistics are kept for 24 months. Backups of the database are kept for 30 days, so a deleted record can persist in a backup for up to a month before it ages out.
Your choices
Email adam@rivalstudios.ca and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You do not need a reason and we will not ask for one. We aim to respond within a week.
If you are in Canada, you can raise a concern with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. If you are in the UK or the EU, you can raise one with your national data protection authority.
Changes
If we change what we collect, we will change this page and update the date at the top. We will not start collecting something new and quietly leave this page as it was.
